Becoming one of the biggest names in rap/hip-hop/pop, Nicki Minaj is having one heck of a year. With this new honor from Billboard, it's going to get even bigger.
She is slated to receive the honor of Rising Star of 2011 at Billboard's "Women in Music" event on December 2 in New York City. She will no doubt look ridiculous.
Minaj said she was "deeply honored to be recognized by Billboard" and that she and her fans"mighty long way" but are not close to where "God will take us."
A classic moment in a year full of them for Nicki Minaj.
With her talent and style, the rapper/singer has emerged as one of music's most popular entertainers since releasing her debut album Pink Friday late last year.
Her hits include "Super Bass" and "Moment 4 Life," and she's collaborated with many other big names. She'll have one of her biggest fans on hand next Friday:
