Men's Style by Russell Smith ? Book Review

Writers on the sartorial style tend to have a beautiful prose. This is certainly the case for Russell Smith, author of Men's Style: A Guide to Thinking Man Dress. His book is full of interesting and amusing anecdotes, phrases and paragraphs, but never looks like trying too hard. It can explain the technical aspects of the association also for writing in plain English ? easier said than done.

The only problem with any style of driving is thatBackground, the style of a question of personal taste, and the rules are rather subjective, as you gain experience. Russell does not deny, but is also firmly on his faith. I personally would rather read a book like this ? even if I disagreed with most of the requirements and prohibitions of the author's consent ? a book full dilution relativism ("leisure suits are not my thing, but take it if you want." How useful would it be?).

Style rules are aimed atdressing less confusing, because "it makes sense is to know the rules, especially if you have anything new in this game and do not trust their own taste." Fred Astaire, can try to pull a dress that you or I would have left that looks like a monkey in disguise, not because it's beautiful (not) but because it is a pro. He can break the rules because they know and the gaps.

The book is an excellent introduction to the style of the men, especially traditional and a little 'formalStyle. It shows how clothes can make you feel sexy and cool. It shows you how to dress for different occasions. There is also a fun read. But if you are looking for advice, for example, how to choose the shirt color best for your skin tone, or how you dress for your body type, you might want something more practical and technical.

The book has wide margins allow, for quotations, illustrations and sidebars on the page frame. The pictures are good with the name Edwin Fotheringham,a nice addition and help to the point to illustrate the author: a chapter on the casual dress with a man in a leisure suit with a paisley-clad gold chain. The caption: "Casual dress is probably the weakest point of modern men." Point of fact.

This is a great gift for a man who is interested in style, or at least sleep with women. (If you are interested to have sex with men, he will think it's still funny.) If you have a spouse, brother or friend, the fashion is abyssalDecisions should, them this book as an introduction to the style. I combined the book with a picture book or the old Fred Astaire Carey Grant, just to emphasize how important the style can be good.
