WorkersCompensation.com's CompNewsNetwork - Florida CFO ...
Since CFO Atwater took office, the Division of Insurance Fraud has arrested 318 individuals for workers? compensation fraud, resulting in 298 convictions.?
?Workers? compensation insurance laws are intended to protect businesses and employees from losses when legitimate accidents occur,? CFO Atwater said. ?We will not stand by and watch while fraudsters like these deliberately undermine the system for their own personal gain.?
An investigation by the Florida Department of Financial Services? Division of Insurance Fraud revealed that Timmons collected medical benefits through her employer?s workers? compensation policy after an accident at work. Although she claimed that she could not work, she continued to collect full pay from her employer while also collecting these benefits. Timmons denied under oath that she was working and as a result of Timmons? false statements, Sentry Insurance paid Timmons more than $60,000 in fraudulent workers? compensation benefits.?
In a separate but similar case, Kendrick claimed he experienced a work-related back injury.? Further investigation revealed previous medical records showing Kendrick had claimed back injuries in 1983 and 1985 and sought disability benefits on both occasions. As a result of Kendrick?s false statements, Alternative Service Concepts, LLC, paid over $71,000 in fraudulent workers? compensation benefits.
Timmons and Kendrick were booked into the Hillsborough County Jail and Manatee County jail respectively.? If convicted, they each face up to 15 years in prison.?
The charges against Timmons will be prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Brian Shrader, a dedicated fraud prosecutor in Hillsborough County.? The State Attorney?s Office in Manatee County will prosecute the charges against Kendrick.?
The Department of Financial Services to date has awarded almost $275,000 to more than 40 citizens as part of its Anti-Fraud Reward Program.? The program rewards individuals up to $25,000 for information that directly leads to an arrest and conviction in an insurance fraud scheme. Anyone with information about these or any other incidents of suspected insurance fraud is asked to call 1-800-378-0455. Citizens who provide tips can remain anonymous.?

No joke: Great performance can't save 'Idol'
By Craig Berman, TODAY.com contributor
Fox
Heejun Han delivered his best performance of the season Wednesday, but it wasn't enough to keep him in the competition.
The Heejun Han musical comedy tour ended on ?American Idol? on Thursday, ironically following his best solo performance of the season.
After weeks of getting not-so-subtle hints that he should cut back on the jokes, culminating with Steven Tyler?s less-veiled swipe a week ago, Han cut out the act and did a straight-up performance of Donny Hathaway's ?A Song for You.? It was sweetly done and earned him a standing ovation.
But Jimmy Iovine summed up the situation best in his Thursday video clip. He praised Han?s effort but noted, ?My problem is I don?t think he sings as well as the other eight contestants at this point in the show.?
And therein lies the paradox that characterized Han?s stint on ?Idol.? He wasn?t quite compelling enough of an entertainer to win in the Taylor Hicks style, and he wasn?t a good enough pure vocalist to take the title that way. Whatever he did was going to win him some support ? he definitely has a future in entertainment somewhere ? but not enough to win a competition like this one.
Even on his best night, he legitimately had one of the weakest performances because everyone else was at their best as well. Since the judges did not use their save to keep him around, Han finishes in ninth place and will have to pack his things just after he moved into the ?Idol? mansion. It will definitely be a less funny place without him around.
Fox
The more shocking news was that Skylar Laine was in the bottom three, along with Hollie Cavanagh, who deserved that fate. That means Laine will likely get the fawning from the judges that?s been reserved for Elise Testone?as they try to keep the star women on the show without having to use their save so early. Maybe it was divine payback for picking Miranda Lambert as her idol, considering Lambert's husband, Blake Shelton, works for "The Voice."
Of course, there are other female stars that the judges seem less eager to have hang around. Guest performer Nicki Minaj, for example. She asked host Ryan Seacrest if she could come back and be a guest judge, and while their mouths said ?any time? the body language and facial expressions said ?no shot.? Especially if Jennifer Lopez has a say. She did not look happy at the thought of a challenge. Simon Cowell has more of a chance at being invited to judge again than Minaj does.
Hitting the other end of the excitability meter was the Eric Benet cameo. He appeared briefly onstage to tell DeAndre Brackensick how much he appreciated the young man's cover of his tune "Sometimes I Cry" on Wednesday, and the ?Idol? hopeful reacted as if ?he?d won the lottery. Mariah Carey did not do the same for Joshua Ledet, but she did tweet that she liked his performance of "Without You." Stunningly, she did not mention having worked with Randy Jackson. Maybe that feedback loop works only one way?
Brackensick avoided the bottom three this past week, but he can?t rest easy. Given the unpredictability of the voting so far, the only sure thing is that with Han out, there will be less irreverence in the show next week.
Were you surprised that Skylar and Hollie were in the bottom three? Who should have had to sit on the stools? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page!

ZTE Fury Review
Could a device that is only $19.99 on a two-year contract hold any relevance in the Android world in 2012? It seems that lately you can either drop a couple of hundred dollars to get yourself a highly spec'd device or you can take the cheaper route and grab a mid range device, but what do you sacrifice by doing that? ZTE has been trying to become more reputable, they recently also released the ZTE Warp, and now they have brought the ZTE Fury to Sprint.
On paper the device has specs of what we saw in most 2011 devices, so that leaves us wondering -- is the ZTE Fury a year late to the party? Let's hit the break and check out how the device performed as it was put through the paces, and see if it could be enough to make it as your next daily driver.
For the price the ZTE Fury is a moderately spec'd Android device. The 3.5-inch screen is one that many will enjoy, it allows the device to have a nice small overall feel. | Locking into a device like this on contract will ensure to keep you far behind on the Android technology. Camera is pretty bad, and barely even worth using. |

Improve Your Memory | Brain Games | Prevent Alzheimer's Disease ...
A lot of brain fitness and health advice is good old fashioned common sense:
- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables
- Get plenty of rest
- Reduce the amount of stress in your life
- Be active
We?re familiar with these healthy tips because we?ve been reading them for more years than we?d care to count. These 4 rules are the core of every disease-prevention tool box out there.? Diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity, and so on ? none of these tend to favor the individual who eats a healthy diet, gets plenty of activity in their life, gets around 7 hours of sleep each night, and manages stress (rather than the other way around).
The fact that we?re so familiar with them is what concerns me.? Sometimes we take them for granted. They become like the old standards:
- If you don?t have anything good to say, don?t say anything at all.
- Wash your hands before eating.
- Brush your teeth 3x a day.
- Always say PLEASE and THANK YOU.
- etc?
I don?t have to point out how few of these we adhere to religiously. Don?t tell my dentist, but I can?t remember the time I brushed my teeth 3x a day.
When we hear things so often (or read them, for that matter), we get to the place where they don?t even register.? How many times have you read an article about health and fitness and just glanced over the paragraph about trans fats as you thought, ?Yeah, yeah, tell me something I don?t know.??
When advice can help us live longer and live better, we need to stop glancing and start advancing.? Our heart and our brains desperately need for us to eat healthier, stress less, get more activity, and sleep 7 hours each night. Don?t wait until problems creep up before you give your life a healthy overhaul ? do it before any problems are even thought about.
One of the Most Important Necessities of Brain Strengthening
In addition to the healthy advice above that we?re all going to start LIVING OUT rather than LEAVING OUT, an equally important part of brain strengthening, improving your memory, and preventing Alzheimer?s Disease and dementia is this:? Work out and challenge your brain each and every single day.? Yes, you should read a variety of subjects.? But if you want to really challenge your brain and flex your mental muscles, you need to fall in love with brain training games.
These brain training games can improve your memory, train you to think faster, help you focus, and make your confidence soar.? Some games that you may have on your shelves qualify: Scrabble, Monopoly, Pictionary, Checkers, LIFE, etc.
As someone pretty much? make that very much? obsessed with the subjects of brain health, fighting memory loss, and preventing dementia (including Alzheimer?s), I?d love to see people collecting and using brain training and strengthening games as faithfully as resistance bands and dumbbells.? A pet peeve is when people put their ALL into their physical health without thinking about their mental health whatsoever.? Certainly, many things that improve our physical health also improve our mental health ? but it takes more.? And, seriously, what?s the use of a strong body if one has a weak mind?? Our brains are our control centers. They deserve more of our attention!
For optimum brain strength and health, we have to challenge our mind and work it out as we do the rest of our bodies.
That?s where brain games can be golden. And fun!? The game shown at the top of this article is a perfect example. This game is the Name 5 Game and it should, in my humble opinion, be the first brain game added to a growing collection.?? Why? Because it meets the criteria:
- It?s fun! You?ll play regularly ? for fun without even thinking about it?s function.
- It?s effective. The Marble Store?s Brain expert puts it this way: ?Activate your frontal cortex as you think critically and make decisions during this game.? What they said.
- Games such as this train you to think fast on your feet. Remember in school when the teacher asked a question and your hand darted up? Or when you completed homework in 20 minutes because your bike was waiting for you? We can train our brain to work faster again. The great thing is, it?ll be as fun as a bike ride!
I hope you?ll click through and check out this exciting game, as well as the countless others in Marbles: The Brain Store. You might want to start with their 2012 Marbles Sweet 16.? WHERE you start isn?t nearly as important as THAT you start.
Make each moment count double!
~ Joi

seo services los angeles- SEO Providers :: Multiverso Incognoscible
Professional SEO services can lift your site above your competitors. According to SEO experts, they help business owners deliver their sites to top rank search engines. They ensure that the site has a unique setting that attracts Internet users. Search engine optimization experts apply the newest analytics service, which has a positive impact on a website. SEO companies are facing great competition in the SEO field. However, they introduce guaranteed SEO services to cope with the competition.
However, guaranteed SEO services include the 100% money refund because the website may not be ranked with top search engines like Google and Yahoo, and they refund the money. Therefore, the SEO companies ensure the clients that the money refund will be done, since the search engine optimization experts are not sure whether the site will be ranked with the top search engines.
These SEO companies have a strategy requiring clients to pay the major search engines (including Google and Yahoo) for monthly website maintenance. However, the company has guaranteed SEO services, where clients do not pay maintenance for that month.
Google has remained top, since they have accurate methods and algorithms that deliver credible results to the searchers. However, Google has made it difficult for web developers to use optimization tricks in manipulating search engines. This is why SEO companies have the guaranteed SEO money refund.
SEO companies ensure that guaranteed SEO services include the Google?s webmaster guidelines. Webmaster guidelines boost website rank and search activity. The services clients get from SEO experts are like marathons. However, clients should be aware that SEO tricks can have a great impact on a website and damage it-which is why they have to use the legitimate SEO strategies in order to receive impressive results.
Although one may read a lot about the search engine ranking, no search engine optimization company can ensure that his or her site will get the first page in Google or Yahoo search engine results. Despite this, SEO companies have guaranteed SEO services and it is great when one signs with Google. The fact remains that SEO services assure clients that even if the site will not rank among the top search engines, the money will not be a waste because of the refund.
Many webmasters are confused when hiring a search engine optimization SEO expert. Although SEO experts are believed to save time and improve webmaster sites through SEO strategies, they can also frustrate webmasters. Thus, webmasters must investigate the pros and cons of SEO services. The major tasks of the SEO experts are:
? Ensure that the site is well reviewed in the content or structure
? Provide Search engine optimization SEO advice on website development like use of JavaScript and web hosting
? Develop website content using SEO services
? Provide online business improvement campaigns
? Target keyword research
? Offer SEO training
However, the webmasters can grasp search engine optimization SEO through websites. They will understand the benefits of hiring an SEO expert and what to expect from one.
It is clear that when webmasters hire a Search engine optimization SEO expert, they stand a better chance of maximizing their SEO services. When they want to start a new site it is good to look for web developers who have web design talent. The web developer will ensure that a webmaster?s site reaches the top search engine ranking like Google or Yahoo. The web developer also assists in improving an existing site.
However, webmasters have to ask several questions about search engine optimization SEO including:
1. Do they have previous examples and testimonies from past clients?
2. Do they follow the guidelines from the Google webmaster?
3. Do they implement the SEO Internet marketing services to improve online business?
4. Do they have experience in the webmaster?s industry?
5. Do they have knowledge of the webmaster?s country/city?
6. Do they have experience in developing sites for international companies?
7. What are the best SEO techniques to implement on the webmaster?s site?
8. How long has the SEO expert been in web design?
9. Does the SEO expert have good communication skills when making changes on the client?s site?
Although the SEO experts provide great SEO services to their clients, there are a few who ruin the web design industry through their greed in marketing efforts and manipulate search engine rank. If search engine optimization SEO does not involve ethical practices, the site may have low visibility on Google or even be removed from the Google index.
SEO and social media marketing ensure that one?s site has the best SEO Internet marketing, which means that their company can remain competitive in the online market. All the individual has to do is transition in their online business.
SEO Internet marketing has major components, which develop the website traffic, and top search engine rankings. However, webmasters should be aware that these components are not easy to get. They must apply formulas and SEO strategies to produce effective results. There are many websites providing pertinent information about SEO and online marketing, and you can learn from them.
If one?s business does not have SEO Internet marketing strategies, he or she will need help from SEO experts. They will have to find SEO expert websites, who will help the business owner?s site have many customers in online marketing. The obligation of SEO experts is to create exposure to businesses. They focus on SEO Internet marketing goals and provide top search engine rank like Google and Yahoo. However, to accomplish all this, web developers use SEO custom services, which have long-lasting SEO Google rank.
SEO companies ensure that your site has all the SEO Internet marketing such as business improvement, localized product sales, high quality online generation and the rest. Webmasters are guaranteed to remain competitive in the online business if they stick with SEO experts. They will have all they need to ensure business success.
Business owners who do have a business website lose massive amounts of money from online marketing. They should know that SEO Internet marketing mandates a business website, since it is a necessary online marketing tool. A website or blog is same as news ads, letterheads, or the yellow pages. However, the website must be user-friendly and just as advertisement is important, the SEO website is the same.
It is true that 44% of small businesses do not have a website or blog. They are unable to reach 73% of Internet users each day. If your company has a website, customers can research the latest products the business owner?s company offers. SEO Internet marketing can help any company through their site to sell products. All businesses should have their own website, including companies using websites provided by insurance.

Home D?cor Ideas in the Bathroom | interior design blog
Written by admin on Sunday, March 25th, 2012 ( Start discussion )
Whether you?re remodeling, renovating or just giving your bathroom a simple makeover, it?s important to breakdown the materials into a list. This way you?ll be sure to know exactly what goes into your new bathroom and how much it costs, ensuring you get the best bang for your buck. And that even includes identifying and pricing such home d?cor accessories as toothbrush holders and towel bars. Use this guide to help you get an idea of what might look best not only on paper but in your bathroom as well.
The Big Stuff
Big ticket items like lighting, cabinet hardware and faucets can be a costly addition to any bathroom remodeling project. If it?s in your best interest to keep prices down, replacing larger priced items with several smaller priced alternatives can be just the thing to make your new bathroom look like a million bucks instead of cost that much.
Paint can be a lifesaver when it comes to matching your decorating design with other d?cor. And not only is paint a cheap and easy home improvement project that just about anyone can do themselves, paint can also be applied using various techniques and styles creating a multitude of design options to match the d?cor of any bathroom remodel or makeover.
Functional accessories like a lighted makeup mirror are a great example of a cost-effective decorating strategy. You not only get a new mirror, but you also get a new light, essentially getting two items for the price of one. Another great bathroom d?cor item that kills two birds with one stone are bathroom hampers with built in storage shelves. They are not only functional for storing dirty clothes before the wash, but they double as a great display for all of your favorite nick knack?s, decorations or toiletries as well.
The Small Stuff
It really is ok to sweat the small stuff. By counting in smaller items?or at least giving yourself a figure to base your decorating on?you can ensure you stay within budget on your bathroom makeover project. It?s very important to factor in bathroom accessories like soap dispensers, towels, toothbrush holders, jewelry dishes and even toilet paper holders. These simple items may seem like small potatoes at first, but they quickly add up, easily blowing your budget and ruining or delaying your bathroom makeover project.
Some items can really be budget breakers. For instance, any item made from nickel, or other finer metal finishes can bring the price of a simple soap dish breaking through your budget roof. Even inexpensive items can become costly when labor prices are high due to difficult installation.

The Survival Value Of Oral And Written ... - Speaking Truth to Power
ORIGINAL ARTICLE (http://survivalblog NULL.com/2012/03/the-survival-value-of-oral-and-written-traditions-by-kb NULL.html)
The importance of keeping a curriculum in your plans
In a TEOTWAWKI (http://www NULL.survivalblog NULL.com/glossary NULL.html#TEOTWAWKI) community, the lifestyle would be more or less the traditional one known to all communities in all times, cultures, and epochs: survival maintenance. Work never ends because, in a traditional community, work is life. Gardening techniques, clothing styles, earthenware, cuisine, tools, art, tapestries, house construction, and all the rest are not ?pretty things? at all but artifacts that emerge from survival. They are pretty things when we see them as a Goth?s furry booties in a museum or an Algonquin head wrap in a roadside souvenir shop. Likewise, education is practical, a lesson with a purpose and not as a diversion, and the learning that does not further community welfare is a dangerous one. All effort either contributes to the community welfare or works against it. Learning programs are no different.
Even if cataclysmic events pass after a short time ? say, five to ten years only ? and we are able to re-enter the society we left with its food stores and water treatment facilities, that is a gap of time that needs to be filled diligently and productively. Children should emerge in a better frame of mind and worldview than if they had been left in the pre-cataclysmic modern public school system. Would your TEOTWAWKI school program do that? This is what the prepper-survivalist strives for: coming out of difficulty stronger, wiser, and looking upon challenges, however fearsome, with the same look that Aristotle described on a ?great man?: one who looks upon life the way an athlete looks upon a race.
The vital points of learning are in stories. Here are suggestions for designing an approach without electricity for any digital materials, cassettes, or videos. From the descriptions of TEOTWAWKI life that I have seen, it is difficult to imagine that your energy sources would be wisely spent on dvd or cd players, even for educational purposes. It?s likely going to be purposely selected tales and sing-alongs by campfire and candlelight from day one. A family or community must decide for themselves what is moral, good, bad, etc, in terms of reading material and because of the personal nature of that, I do not prescribe materials by name.
Reading the opening chapter of James Wesley, Rawles? How to Survive the End of the World as We Know It (http://www NULL.amazon NULL.com/gp/product/0452295831?ie=UTF8&tag=survivalcom-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0452295831), it is difficult to imagine that there will be much time for school learning concerns, at least in the beginning. In a real TEOTWAWKI scenario (is there any other kind?), most preppers and their children would find it difficult to focus on bookish pursuits. But eventually, if and when things settle down and preparations have paid off well enough that a small community can emerge and stabilize, life will have to go on and part of that maintenance is in the schooling of the young. It is what gives the idea that there is a future to work towards at all, for it would be equally difficult psychologically to go on with things if you and your family/community had the attitude that there would be no future.
Right thinking requires selecting right examples
If we accept that learning must be geared towards practical survival, and if we accept that stories can transmit good examples and ideals necessary to survival (fortitude, perseverance, self-restraint, charity, respect towards authority, etc), then we may infer that the selection of stories is crucial to preparing children to survive, which in turn helps us to survive.
The one in charge of learning (in the home or for a small community school) will have to act as censor in the selection of stories for telling or reading. Let?s not forget that the word comes from the Latin ?cencere?, which meant to give an opinion or assessment, to appraise. From the late-medieval period on it was used in ecclesiastical terms as ?censor? to mean a corrector or editor in the sense that what was printed was accurate and the stamp of approval was the word ?imprimatur? ? (fit) to be printed. The TEOTWAWKI teacher will have to know what is ?fit reading?. One of the disasters of modern education is the idea that children can be the creators of their own learning. Shall we allow them to create their own means of survival? We have been taught by mainline media to fear the word censor, but consider how often we as parents do this in practice: we censor what children eat, we censor the time they may be home or in bed by, we censor the language they may use towards their siblings, and so on. If we are willing to admit that a child?s outlook, temperament, and inclination are shaped in great measure by what is seen in the films and in print, then it follows that these things need censoring.
You have a limited amount of time to prepare the mindset of kids, to prepare by the age of ten or twelve in what Aristotle called ?khreston ethos? or a fitting outlook, what C.S. Lewis called ?just sentiments? ? the frame of mind that is conducive to working when cold and wet, learning for tomorrow ?just because it?s what we do?, accepting correction with humility, acquiring a fledgling sense of decorum, duty, and the like. Learning is not complete by this age but the basis upon which more advanced learning can take place is laid here. The mind at this age is the concrete slab foundation of the house and it had better be strong. If this is true generally in the comfy environment that we have at the moment, how much more true will it be in a perilous environment where the survival of everyone is contingent upon what notions are put into our children?s imaginations?
Stories ? the foundation of community
Stories, as education, were never for diversion. Today, myths are considered to be fanciful stories for entertainment from a na?ve past, but in fact they served as educational lessons to their original societies. ?Little Red Riding-Hood? was a tale to warn small children not to venture into the woods because in early-medieval times, that?s where roving Celtic bandits lived ? and kidnapped children that drifted too far afield. This is how a little Romano-Briton boy ended up an Irish shepherd for fifteen years; he later became known as Saint Patrick. The genealogies of many traditions are thought of as being overly-attentive to family trees but in a traditional community, genealogies are historical time-lines. With the Internet, parents have great access to all manner of stories new and old to collect, print, and even use now without any TEOTWAWKI. Parables, proverbs, fables, and legends (including adventure tales) transmit lessons about survival-conduct, wise decision making, and right perspective. Right-perspective is not about your ideological preference or your favorite -ism; it?s about survival within your retreat.
The material of a prepper?s home school or community school might be in pictures or words but it?s what the stories are about that counts. Many societies of more primitive peoples without a written language are known for their generosity and peaceful way of life, and don?t forget that at the time of Nazi Germany, Germans were the most literate nation in the world. Even at the most practical level, such as the Bushmen of Africa, there is an ?oral literature? without which they would have difficulty making sense of the world around them and their place in it. Consider collecting a list of stories (tales, books, etc) classified under value-headings, ex: about family life, community life, work ethic, and personal responsibility. The goal is moral living generally, for all the camping supplies and solar panels and chlorine tablets and jerked beef and heirloom seeds come to nothing if strife, dissent, and selfishness reign in your retreat compound. Daily stories help in some measure (depending on how well they are integrated with other tasks in the day) to keep order. It would be difficult to teach children to participate in a tight community structure while feeding them some random assortment of disconnected stories that go against communal living. When it comes to tight community living, where every person young, old, and in between is a vital cog in the daily operation of things, moral stories are as important as clean water and defense. If you see nothing in common between the traditional stories of the Tlingit in Alaska, the Sanskrit parables of the ancient Indo-European Aryans, the myths of the ancient Greeks, and the tales of medieval Slavs, then know that it is their survival as communities.
Written word, spoken word
Wars and disruptions in The Grid can be temporary. However, if a TEOTWAWKI scenario happens, it would likely endure for many years because the very nature of TEOTWAWKI is big, not small. After fifteen years of travel, living and working on four continents, it is my impression that the Amish in the United States have the most balanced or holistic system of education: letters and stories that enforce the social ethos. There is a similar community in Europe (and some other countries, including the US) called Bruderhof with many parallels in approach but they are not as numerous. A number of small eco-communities (often downplayed as ?communes? by the western technocratic media) have grown in Russia and in Germany, but because of their nature and principles, they are not on the internet. They all value stories and art as part of the mechanism of community health. Should there be second and third-generation TEOTWAWKI communities, and should they lose most writing skills, they would still stand stronger than others as long as they carry with them the necessary Moral ABCs to survive.
Don?t let reading dominate. Use voice. In your curriculum, include many oral response/ performance activities that follow stories. Having kids read aloud helps with communication skills generally, can remove some speech impediments, assists memory, and also encourages self-confidence. Have them identify connections with previous stories. Ask how they are related and how they are different. You might also combine a spoken story with art/drawing activities. Traditionally, music is also combined with stories, especially for younger kids. Music in many societies is the means to teaching correct grammar because children internalize rhythm more easily than rules. The use of songs has long been known to work well in foreign language acquisition. Rhyme in music and poems is also a natural feature of language learning because it is an analytical activity. Incidentally, many traditional (non- or semi-literate) communities that I have seen in my travels have rich musical traditions without instruments. Voice and melody are the important elements.
For those who would develop writing in the curriculum, there is no great rocket science to making comprehension/response activities into learning pedagogies. Anything read or listened to has the basic pattern:
-Comprehension
-Elicit the moral/lesson of it
-Connect or integrate it with previous stories or real-life experiences (physical, emotional, ethical, creative, etc.)
This process doesn?t change much in terms of essentials all the way up to college work, only in depth and complexity. For example, the standard parts of an analytical college essay are:
-Summary of the main ideas (What the facts are, what the deal is)
-Interpretation (What they mean, how to look at it)
-Proposal (What we should do next, new ideas)
And at the higher level of formal research projects, it becomes:
-Review of the literature
-Research methods and analysis of the data
-Results and applications
Create a similar template for any story at any age level.
Children and especially adolescents should be encouraged to contribute materials for the library such as writing original short stories and reflections, writing down their experiences, noting humorous episodes from their days, and ? importantly ? reading each other?s stories or telling them dramatically. Humor will be a vital component in TEOTWAWKI society. Kids should be encouraged to draw scenes of hope and joy wherever their imaginations can find it. Book-making (for what they write and draw) is another basic and rewarding skill that can be worked into the whole process. Ink-making, carving out a quill, paper making can also be part of the curriculum because these things might in fact be needed.
Select your library now. Even if you don?t have children, some in your community might. Your library collection should not be too big. If each family in a community had a small library, it would make for a sufficient sharing system all put together. The library should also be portable. Having a community does not guarantee that its members will have the luxury of remaining in one place settled down. You might need to go nomadic. This lifestyle should also be somewhere in your selected stories so children can relate to it should the need arise. There are plenty of stories from nomadic cultures that help young and old alike to comprehend the life of traveling.
Traditional societies that have survived so long in natural TEOTWAWKI conditions ? in Australia, Central Asia, South America, North America, Siberia, and many others right up to our day all share one thing in common with regard to the young: educating youth through stories that impart the values and character necessary to not only survival but constructive outlook and moral self-worth. It will be good for preppers to study something about existing communal groups that integrate traditional stories with living,. For example: kibbutz settlements, Amish communities, Eskimo reservations, monasteries, and other indigenous cultures around the world, both settled and nomadic, to glean information. ?In such communities, things are not done frivolously. What works is kept, what doesn?t work is discarded.
This is the course of literature. What we list as ?pretty things? are just artifacts of survival taken out of their survival context. Real literature is that which promotes survival. It can become pretty afterwards for future generations to look back on when they are in the position of enjoying the accomplishments that their forebearers (re)built.

Russia says near deal on two new Indian reactors
VOLGINSKY, Russia (Reuters) - Russia's ability to restart long-delayed work at the Kudankulam nuclear plant in Tamil Nadu has paved the way for a deal with India to build two more atomic reactors in the near future, Russia's nuclear chief said on Wednesday.
The first two reactors at the plant were meant to be operational last year, but work by Russian engineers was delayed after protesters blocked access to the site following Japan's nuclear catastrophe.
Work to launch the reactors restarted on Tuesday, however, after police arrested dozens of protesters.
"The resolution of the political dispute over the first two reactors paves the road to sign the agreement on the third and fourth (nuclear) generators," Sergei Kiriyenko, the head of Russian state nuclear monopoly Rosatom, told Reuters.
"The decision (on the third and fourth) reactors was linked to the launch of the first and second generators."
Kiriyenko said Moscow was ready to sign the agreement with India on the third and fourth reactors "starting tomorrow," adding he already had initial political approval for the project despite the fact that talks have dragged on for years.
However, he ruled out sealing the deal during President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to India for a summit of the BRICS group of nations.
Russia is keen to cash in on its nuclear know-how and has ambitious plans to triple nuclear exports to $50 billion a year by 2030. It possesses about 40 percent of the world's uranium enrichment capacity, and exports some $3 billion worth of fuel a year, offering discounts to clients who buy its reactors.
India meanwhile continues to suffer from huge electricity shortages which are hampering its growth, and is therefore anxious to get more nuclear power stations built as quickly as possible.
WORLD'S SAFEST NUCLEAR PLANT
Kiriyenko hailed the Indian authorities' decision to press ahead despite domestic opposition to the project, saying the plant more than complied with stricter safety rules brought in after the Fukushima crisis.
"There is nothing safer that this project compared to other plants across the globe," Kiriyenko told Reuters.
Rosatom has argued that the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl more than 20 years ago helped it hone its safety technology.
Kiriyenko did not say when the first two reactors at Kudankulam could go online, stressing that the halt in construction meant additional checks would be necessary.
"We need to carry out an inspection of the equipment that has been idle," Kiriyenko said. "This of course may take some time because we have put all the equipment in storage."
India plans to add 64 gigawatts of nuclear power to its power generating capacity by building 30 reactors by 2032.

Romney seeks primary-fight breaking point in Ill.
CHICAGO (AP) ? His confidence surging, Mitt Romney pointedly ignored his Republican rivals on the eve of Tuesday's high-stakes primary election in Illinois and turned his fire instead on the Democrat he hopes to oust in the fall.
Romney pushed into President Barack Obama's home territory, assailing Obama's economic credentials on the Chicago campus where the president taught for more than a decade. At the same time, GOP contender Rick Santorum struggled to explain why the nation's unemployment rate is not his top concern and why the economy isn't the issue that defines the race even as he tried to rally anti-Romney conservatives.
The contrasts offered a look inside two campaigns seemingly moving in different directions, just one day before Illinois voters decided what could be the most significant Republican contest through the end of the month.
"Freedom is on the ballot this year," Romney told students and supporters at the University of Chicago, contending that the nation's recovery from recession was being limited by an "assault on our economic freedom" by Obama. "I am offering a real choice and a very different beginning," he said.
Romney was trying to show he was more than ready to rise above the grinding GOP primary battle and move toward a general election matchup against Obama. The front-runner, he has secured more delegates than his opponents combined, and his nomination seems more assured each week as Santorum's shoestring campaign struggles under the weight of continued disorganization.
But a victory in Illinois' Tuesday primary is by no means assured.
Romney has spent big on advertising and will have devoted more than three straight days to the state ? an eternity by some standards in this constantly shifting campaign ? by the time votes are counted Tuesday night.
After embarrassing Santorum with a one-sided victory in Puerto Rico Sunday, the Romney campaign sees in Illinois a potential breaking point for stubborn rivals who have defiantly vowed to stay in the race until the GOP's national convention in August. Should Santorum and Newt Gingrich stay politically alive until then and follow through on their threat, it could turn the convention into an intra-party fight for the first time since 1976.
Illinois is expected to be far closer than Puerto Rico's blowout, although recent polls suggest Romney may be pulling away. Even if he should lose the popular vote, Romney is poised to win the delegate battle. Santorum cannot win at least 10 of the state's 54 delegates available Tuesday because his campaign didn't file the necessary paperwork
Still, Santorum campaigned hard across the state Sunday and Monday in light of the stakes in Illinois, one of the last premier battlegrounds before the Republican race enters an extended lull after Saturday's contest in Louisiana.
"If we're able to come out of Illinois with a huge or surprise win, I guarantee you, I guarantee you that we will win this nomination," Santorum said.
He rallied conservatives on Monday in Dixon, Ill., the hometown of President Ronald Reagan, saying that Obama's health care overhaul, not the economy, is the election's "most salient issue."
"The campaign doesn't hinge in unemployment rates," he said later. "We conservatives don't believe government creates jobs."
The comments sparked a rash of criticism that Romney picked up on at his final campaign stop of the day at Bradley University in central Illinois.
"One of the people who is running also for the Republican nomination today said that he doesn't care about the unemployment rate," Romney told college students in Peoria, Ill. "It does bother me. I want to get people back to work. I am concerned about those how are out of work."
In remarks in Rockford, Ill., Santorum said an oppressive government rather than the economy is the real issue of the presidential campaign.
"At every single speech that I give I talk about Obamacare," he said. "Every single speech I say that the issue in this race is not the economy. The reason the economy is an issue in this race is because we have a government that is oppressing its people and taking away their freedom and the economy is suffering as a result of it."
Santorum later explained his comments as being about freedom, not the economy.
"The problem with the economy is government taking people's freedom away and advancing regulations, destroying and undermining businesses ability to be problem solvers," he told Chicago radio station WLS. "Americans don't take kindly to the yoke of government, and we don't do very well. Our economy struggles when that happens"
Romney, meanwhile, campaigned in the city where Obama taught law at the University of Chicago and where the president has his national campaign headquarters. Avoiding any reference to Republican opponents during his afternoon speech, Romney assailed the president.
"The American economy is fueled by freedom," he said, flanked by a row of American flags. "The Obama administration's assault on our economic freedom is the principal reason why the recovery has been so tepid ? and why it couldn't meet their expectations, let alone ours."
At the current primary election rate, Romney would capture the nomination in June unless Santorum or Gingrich wins decisively in the coming contests. Including Puerto Rico's results, Romney has now collected 521 delegates, compared to Santorum's 253, Gingrich's 136 and Paul's 50, according to an Associated Press tally.
Romney and a growing number of Republicans across the country are eager to move beyond the increasingly nasty primary season that has consumed far more energy, resources and political capital than most expected. But the former Massachusetts governor has so far struggled to win over his party's most passionate voters ? tea party activists and evangelicals who don't trust him as a true conservative.
Romney's wife, Ann, had called for Republicans to unite behind her husband at a campaign stop the night before, suggesting it was time to "move on to the next challenge."
Indeed, the battle for Illinois comes as Obama's campaign builds a mountain of campaign cash and organization in key states.
Obama collected $45 million for his re-election bid in February, accelerating his fundraising pace as his campaign fretted over an oncoming spending blitz by Republican-leaning outside groups.
With Republicans locked in their extended primary campaign, Obama's team is building a 50-state operation that aims to help register new voters, bring back past supporters and boost turnout. Obama's campaign had about $75 million in the bank through the end of January, but totals for February were not immediately available.
Romney and Santorum, by comparison, raised $11.5 million and $9 million respectively in February. And Romney and his allies are spending large amounts in Illinois.
Romney's campaign had spent $1.1 million, while the pro-Romney super PAC, Restore Our Future, had spent an additional $2.4 million on advertising in Illinois through Monday, according to figures collected by the media monitoring firm, SMG Delta. Santorum's super PAC, the Red White and Blue Fund, had spent $327,000, while his campaign had spent $200,000.
Each side bought television ads that attacked the other. And though Romney focused on Obama Monday, he had spent much of the previous week calling Santorum "an economic lightweight," an indication that he continues to view Santorum as a threat.

Better prepared: Mexico's 7.4 quake causes damage, but no deaths
Mexico's worst earthquake in nearly 30 years was met by stricter building codes and a city prepared by evacuation drills and early warning systems.
By Sara Miller Llana,?Staff writer, Lauren Villagran,?Correspondent / March 21, 2012
By the time the powerful 7.4 earthquake rumbled in Mexico City Tuesday, the 56 students ages 6 months to 6 years attending the Montessori Kid's Place in Mexico City were already evacuated, gathered in the front lobby of the school, a location city engineers had earlier indicated as the safest spot.
Skip to next paragraph? For a few seconds, nothing happened, and we thought it might be a false alarm,? says Claudia Ya?ez, the school director. She had purchased two alarms last year, each the size of a book, which warns them of seismic activity in Guerrero state. If an earthquake over the magnitude of 5 strikes, an alarm sounds and a voice warns ?earthquake,? as it did Tuesday, giving them a minute of time to implement the drills they practice monthly. The minute represents the time?between the triggering of the radio alert at the remote sensor and the arrival of the seismic shocks to Mexico City.??This minute is very valuable,? Ms. Ya?ez says.?
Tuesday's earthquake was one of the strongest that residents have felt in the capital since the 1985 quake that killed some 10,000, and still haunts many. Nearly 30 years later, yesterday's quake caused damage but killed no one, according to public authorities.
The country was spared, in part, by the lesser energy of the quake and the way it hit. Stricter building codes have also ensured that homes and office spaces can withstand seismic activity better than in the past. But the city's preparedness, in the form of evacuation drills in schools, hospitals, offices, gas stations, and even in private homes has also evolved as a powerful preventive tool.
?The Mexican populace knows what to do when confronted with an earthquake,? says Mexico City's Civil Protection Secretary Elias Moreno Brizuela.?That was clearly demonstrated yesterday.?
Mexico City has professionalized its disaster response since the 1985 quake, and planning gotten even more attention under Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard. He raised the profile of the city?s ?civil protection? department by making it a cabinet-level ministry in 2007. The ministry then created a detailed, six-point disaster-response program that spells out how each arm of government ? in conjunction with private companies, including construction outfits that participate in reviewing damaged structures and hotels in the event that displaced residents need shelter ? should react during a disaster.
Within seconds of Tuesday?s earthquake, the city set into motion its six-point plan. Six Condor helicopters took to the skies, one heading to pick up the mayor while the other five flew to their respective zones to immediately begin surveying damage across the immense metropolis of 20 million. Mayor Ebrard and Mr. Moreno Brizuela met at the city?s control center, where information was gathered and filtered from the city?s boroughs, various offices, and federal and state governments.
The earthquake struck at 12:02 p.m.. Sixteen minutes later, Ebrard tweeted that he was exiting the helicopter and within another 10 minutes had already communicated about the state of strategic services, the metro, water, electricity, and schools.
?As a government, we have advanced enormously,? Moreno Brizuela says.
Mexico City, which was built on a lakebed that amplifies the waves that radiate out from an earthquake?s center, has suffered worse fates during lesser or equally powerful earthquakes decades ago. In 1957, a 7.7 quake brought down buildings and the city?s iconic Angel of Independence monument. Seven hundred people died. In 1979, buildings crumbled during a powerful 7.9 tremor that also caused numerous deaths. In the 1985 quake, 400 buildings were damaged.
The damage of yesterday's quake is estimated at $100 million, according to risk-modeling firm Eqecat. But there have been no fatalities. It helped that the epicenter was situated in a sparsely populated region in southern Guerrero state. There, about 800 homes were damaged, officials say, including 60 that collapsed.
