From AllAfrica, MHProNews.com learns the housing shortage in Namibia will be met in part by Nami Prefabricated Housing cc, a Chinese company that will produce 18 two-bedroom homes daily. Nami is 70 percent complete with establishing its five distinct manufacturing facilities that will make the panelised homes which in turn will employ many Namibians. The Hon. Jerry Ekandjo, Minister of Regional and Local Government, Housing and Rural Development, in speaking to Nami?s director Gu Di, says, ? Your business will surely help reduce the house burden on the shoulders of the Namibian government and help those low and middle income residents out of their shacks or squatter camps, which is a great contribution to Namibian socio-economic development.? Written by Professor Ganfu Yang, the opinion piece lauds Chinese enterprise for contributions to improving the lot of Namibians.
