One family is currently staying in a hotel after their house caught on fire Saturday evening.
Southside fire responded to a call at a home near the corner of Brandlewood and Saddlewood drives.
Assistant Fire Chief Gary Jarriel told WTOC that when crews arrived one room inside this house was full of flames. Firefighters put out the fire within minutes, but the house still had a lot of smoke and water damage.
"Half to three quarters of the home is salvageable, with materials on the inside. So, i think they're going to be able to salvage a lot out of the home." said Jarriel.
Two adults and four children were helped by the Red Cross.
Jarriel says they're still investigating what caused that room to catch fire.
